Opened in 2015 around a corpus of incunabula, it
aims to provide access to a wide selection of works and digitized
objects: printed books from the 15th to 19th century, manuscripts
and archives, graphic documents and photographic collections.
This project is still on developtment stage and its
organised on three sections:
- Incunables: that collect a corpus of 2,400 resources, comanig from the cardinal Mazarin personal collection, including an example of Gutemberg Bible printed in 1455.
- Manuscripts: there're more then 5000 manuscripts on the Bibliothèque Mazarine, from the carolingians age to the contemporary history.
- Encyclopédie Diderot et d’Alembert: Bibliothèque Mazarine also contents one of two examples of the Encyclopédie, ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers (1751-1772) which brings together all the features of the first states of the original edition, as part of a partnership with the holders of ENCCRE project.
